Due to the agro-ecological conditions in Colombia, the country has some of the best cacao varieties in the world. Thanks to the superior genetics, it is possible to produce cacao beans with international quality in this country.

In Colombia, cacao production is a crucial activity for the national economy. Around 53,000 families benefit from it. However, the rapid economic development and population growth in the last decades have seriously threatened flora and fauna species in the country, including cacao trees. Potential cacao shortages are therefore expected in the upcoming years.

In Aroco, our mission is to preserve the Colombian cacao tradition while protecting both the cacao communities and natural resources.

Aroco is a company committed to the development of regenerative agriculture projects in Colombia with more than 8 years of experience in cacao crops and building up farmers communities.

In our farm located in the municipality of Nilo, Cundinamarca, we currently have 45 hectares of productive cacao plantations and a centralized system for post-harvesting activities such as gathering, selection, fermentation and drying.
